The S-Works TT 5 helmet is an excellent example of our “Made In Racing” approach. Remco Evenepoel and Kasper Asgreen of the Quick-Step Alpha Vinyl team spent countless hours in our Win Tunnel until we created the fastest time-trial helmet we’ve ever made.
Using CFD modeling, the helmet design team redesigned the TT helmet, positioning the rear closer to the rider’s shoulders to reduce air turbulence that creates drag.
The S-Works TT 5 helmet comes equipped with a Class 1 optical visor that offers zero distortion when looking at the road, unlike traditional lenses, which are typically molded from clear plastic. The visor features a hydrophobic coating that helps repel moisture if the weather turns bad on race day, as well as a high-quality anti-fog treatment (EN166).
The occipital adjustment optimizes comfort by adapting to the individual shape of the head, and the helmet’s angle can be adjusted to accommodate glasses. An adjustable Tri-Fix strap system provides greater comfort with new, thinner 10-mm straps that minimize noise.
Our ultra-lightweight and extremely comfortable MIPS Node Air technology is integrated directly into the helmet’s padding, featuring a low-friction layer designed to dissipate rotational forces. Thanks to Specialized’s in-house development, we’ve added vents to maximize ventilation, performance, comfort, and lightness.
